The Digital Differential Pressure Meter (commonly known as a digital magnehelic meter) is a precision diagnostic instrument engineered for professional dive workshops and regulator technicians. This electronic test device is designed to measure minuscule differences in air pressure with high accuracy. It is predominantly used on the service bench to measure, evaluate, and fine-tune the exact cracking pressure and inhalation effort required to open a regulator's second-stage demand valve. By replacing traditional analogue dial gauges, this digital tool ensures highly repeatable calibrations so breathing systems can be tuned precisely to manufacturer specifications.
 
How It Works:
The meter gauges the negative pressure (vacuum) created inside a demand valve during a simulated inhalation attempt. To operate, one side of the differential sensor is linked to the second-stage regulator mouthpiece via a universal adapter, while the other side remains open to the ambient workshop atmosphere. When air is gently drawn from the regulator, the device instantly tracks the drop in internal pressure. The exact cracking effort—the peak suction required to break the seat seal and start gas flow—is captured and shown on the digital display.
